“Great Tits I’ve Known (And Other Species)”
Do you want to get to know Pattaya before you come here? If here, do you want to get to know it better? This version of “Collected Selected Words” returns to the original, still has information on Pattaya hookers, ladyboys, bars, a go gos, Pattaya freelancers, Walking Street, L. K. Metro, massage parlours, discos and more, and of course has chapters on the UK and Italy. Reviewers have commented that the style is of “apparent lightness and liquidity” and that the narrator is “a true navigator”.
“Sexy Thai Bar Girls And Me : Sex Adventures In Asia”
This version of “Collected Selected Words” and “Great Tits I’ve Known (And Other Species)” has more information on Pattaya than the other versions – from an author who has been living in Pattaya for ten years and still thinks he’s compos mentis! The beginning and the conclusion of the novel are narrated by someone who knows the bar scene but is far-gone to say the least.
This novel tries to make sense of bad romance. Its setting is London in the 1970’s and its narrator tries to make sense of a love affair using letters, memories and scraps of information. He becomes paranoid, and in this state he continues to unravel the events that have disturbed him so much. An unreliable narrator whom the reader cannot believe in? And yet the evidence is there to suppose that he loved deeply and that the dark lady in question deceived badly. The narrator’s final, drastic decision means he has no choice but to escape to Africa.
The first part “Travels With Ben” is funny but is an attempt to unravel similar material to the second “Travels With Katharine”. In both sections, the poles are apart but far too close together for comfort.
Aggression, competition, dishonesty, exploitation and deceit mean the narrator is forever involved with undesirable people, unable to make it in a world that seems a reflection of his own nightmares, his own illness, and his own need for extreme, tragic solutions.
